Onsite Calibration

At Precision Solutions, onsite calibration services are at the core of who we are and what we do. Precision Solutions was founded in 1968 by Ray Kendra with a vision of utilizing his notably strong technical competencies and meticulous nature to serve the many businesses in southeastern PA and New Jersey through onsite calibration and repair. Today, our field calibration services are grounded in Ray’s legacy, and while the scope of our onsite calibration services continues to grow, Ray’s expertise and meticulous approach carries on through the services of each of our Technicians.

Advantages of Field Calibration

No two businesses or industries have the same calibration needs. Having served thousands of businesses across all industries, we know every organization has different processes, regulations, products, environments, and scopes. As such, we believe test equipment calibration should look different for every business. We are happy to assist any organization in need of guidance in determining the best calibration procedures for their specific needs. Commonly, our partners choose to have their equipment calibrated onsite. Some benefits of onsite, field calibration include the following:

  • Leave scales, balances, or fixtured equipment in their appropriate place.
  • Minimize or eliminate downtime in manufacturing environments due to calibration.
  • Remove the need for shipping calibration equipment. Calibration devices, including scales and balances, can be damaged in transport. Onsite calibration minimizes the risk of damage to essential equipment.
  • Recertify equipment quickly without being slowed down by pickup and delivery schedules.

High-resolution scales and balances need to be leveled before operation.  They also need to acclimate to their environment as changes in temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure will change the weighment readings on the device.  For this reason, Precision Solutions recommends that scales and balances be calibrated in the location for which they are intended.

Precision Solutions is ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited

Precision Solutions is ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited through A2LA. We partner closely with each of our clients to determine the most appropriate calibration procedures for their organization. Many regulatory bodies require that manufacturers use an ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited calibration company. Regulatory bodies may also prescribe specific calibration procedures which must be followed during calibration; common calibration procedures can be found in Handbook 44 from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or USP<41>. Our team can not only execute the aforementioned procedures, but also help your organization determine which procedure is most appropriate for your specific application.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am very impressed with the new truck scale Precision Solutions installed the weekend of August 25th 2012. When I sent out the request for quotation everyone was told the job had to be completed in two days, on a weekend at that.. The other two companies bid the scale replacement, one saying 4 day and the other claimed they needed 3 days. Precision came in and said it can be done in 2 days. Precision Solutions came in Saturday morning and started the process of removing the very heavy concrete deck scale. I was unable to come in Saturday but did come to work on Sunday totally expecting to see Precision Solutions here finishing up the scale. To my surprise no one showed up, I walked out, stepped on the scale and it was working. All I could say to myself is WOW! I was shocked and amazed that the scale work was completed, pending state approval which we knew would not happen until Monday morning. Here at Mopac Rendering we really challenge our contractors to accomplish projects in a short period of time. By seeing the scale job completed before Sunday morning it tells me that Precision Solutions planned this job out perfectly and they have a lot of dedicated scale technicians and a strong management team willing to work long hours to get the job done. By having the job completed in such a timely manner you guys made me look good. I thank you for that. Keep up the good work!
